Product Won't Vend — Motor Does Not Run
Isolates whether the vend motor is receiving a command signal from the controller and whether the motor itself is functional. Covers payment verification, harness inspection, and motor testing.
Qualified technician handoff: stop before live electrical testing, sealed-system refrigeration work, compressor service, or protected-compartment access unless a qualified technician is handling the work.
- Motor connector shows continuous voltage when no vend is commanded: Disconnect motor immediately. Controller drive circuit may be shorted. Escalate to advanced technician.
- Motor is hot to the touch or smells burnt: Disconnect motor. Do not attempt to run. Replace motor and investigate cause of overdrive.

Inspect Product Column for Jams or Misalignment
operator-intermediatelowOpen the machine and visually inspect the product column where the vend failure occurs. Look for products that are wedged, stacked incorrectly, or hanging between positions.
Flashlight or Inspection LightStop conditions- If product is severely jammed and cannot be freed by hand, do not force it. Hand off to a technician.

Test for Motor Command Signal
operator-intermediatehighWith the machine powered and in service/test mode (if available), initiate a test vend for the affected selection. Measure voltage at the motor connector when the vend command is given.
Digital MultimeterStop conditions- If unable to access test mode or unsure of the command timing, stop and hand off.
Expected: Voltage appears at the motor connector during the vend command window.
Evidence to note: meter-reading
